The Colorado Senate received a message on March 9 that the governor has approved and filed into law Senate Bill 10, which updates agricultural property tax definitions, and Senate Bill 52, establishing a Coal Transition Community Investment program.
The Reading Clerk read the governor’s message to the chamber, noting that Senate Bill 52 was approved on March 9, 2026, at 12:20 p.m. and that both bills were filed with the secretary of state. “Honorable members of the Colorado Senate, pursuant to the authority vested in the office of the governor of the state of Colorado, I have the honor to inform you that I have approved and filed with the secretary of state the following acts,” the clerk read.
The bills were announced during routine business; the session did not include debate on the substance of the measures. The filings mean the statutes reflected in those bills will become part of state law according to the effective dates specified in the enrolled legislation or state statute unless otherwise noted in bill text.
The Senate recording shows the president later signed Senate Joint Resolutions 4 and 11. No further legislative action on SB 10 or SB 52 was recorded during the March 9 floor session.
