Boone County supervisors approve consent agenda, set zoning amendment hearings

The Boone County Board of Supervisors met March 11, 2026, at the Boone County Courthouse. Vice‑Chairman Shawn Bryant called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m., noting Supervisor Scott Longhorn was present and Supervisor Erich Kretzinger was absent. Longhorn moved and Bryant seconded approval of the agenda and a consent package that included minutes, departmental budget reports, license applications and claims; the motions carried with all ayes.
In separate motions, the board accepted a mowing bid from RFS Company to service County Home Cemetery at $38.00 per hour and approved a software contract with ReGov. The board also authorized a contract with V‑L Inc for acquisition of 0.05 acres of right‑of‑way and 0.17 acres of temporary easement in Section 29, Township 85N Range 28W in Boone County for $2,700.00. Supervisors approved signing paperwork to enroll in the ISAC Group Health Program and related dental, vision and COBRA programs, and they approved a proclamation marking “The Lawrence Welk Show 70th Anniversary.”
The board adopted Resolution 26‑13, vacating and abandoning a section of 17th Street in McCormick’s Addition; the resolution is available from the Auditor’s Office. Planning & Development and Health & Sanitation official Mike Salati was present to set public hearing dates for proposed zoning ordinance amendments; hearings were scheduled for March 25, April 1 and April 8, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. The board moved to table Resolution 26‑12, an amendment to the schedule of drainage engineer fees. All motions in the meeting record were approved as "all ayes."
The meeting packet included an itemized claims listing for March 11, 2026, showing county claims and warrants totaling $171,202.86 and a separate drainage claim totaling $21,112.50. The board adjourned at 9:38 a.m.; the minutes were attested by County Auditor Diane R. Patrick.
