Patient advocate Chris Schwab testified about some care concerns he has seen and recommended additional reforms such as community dialysis houses, conversion of clinic models and higher technician training; sponsors said they have connected him with the agency and expect further discussion in rulemaking or future bills.
Sponsors moved HB12‑80 to the Committee on Appropriations with a favorable recommendation; the committee roll call recorded in the transcript shows the motion passed 10‑2 with one excused. Sponsors emphasized the program is industry‑funded and intended to protect patients who depend on dialysis treatment.
