Business speaker urges Orange County to agendize JSX viability, Foley says staff and FAA are coordinating

Joe Dachen told the board he had filed—or was holding—a declaration in superior court and said prior litigation and lease disputes put JSX's presence at the airport at risk. "Please, please, agendize a conversation for JSX," he said, warning that JSX contributes tens of millions locally and could represent "hundreds of millions" in economic activity when users and related services are counted.
Supervisor Foley responded that the speaker appeared not to be current on planning matters, and said his office has been working with the airport director, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration on a plan. Foley offered to meet with the commenter’s office to provide an update.
Dachen’s request was made during public comment and the board did not take immediate action to add an agenda item during the meeting; Foley suggested staff and the airport have an active planning process.
