BROADWAY, N.C. — The Town of Broadway Board of Commissioners met Monday and unanimously adopted a Purple Heart proclamation and resolutions supporting Lee County planning initiatives, the town minutes show.
Mayor Donald Andrews read the Purple Heart proclamation and the board approved it on a motion by Mayor Pro Tem Tommy Beal, seconded by Commissioner April Collins. After the vote the mayor and commissioners signed the proclamation; Jesse Torres, judge advocate with the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA Department of North Carolina, presented a "Purple Heart Town" sign to the mayor and said, "We hope to have the unveiling to the public at the Veterans Day…
