The Town of Broadway Board of Commissioners on Dec. 15 administered oaths to three commissioners and elected a new mayor pro tem during a regularly scheduled meeting in the Council Chamber.
Town Clerk Renee' Saville administered the Oath of Office to April S. Collins, Wendy W. Bryan and Laura K. Duval for terms through 2029. The board presented a plaque recognizing Commissioner James Paschal for his years of service and a resolution honoring Mayor Pro-Tem Tommy Beal for 32 years of service to the town.
Commissioner Teresa Kelly moved to elect Commissioner Lynne Green as mayor pro tem; Commissioner April Collins seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The board also designated delegates and alternates to regional organizations, including the Central Pines Council of Governments and the Sanford Area Growth Alliance, and set regular 2026 meeting dates for the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
The swearing-in sets the roster of town commissioners for the coming term. There was no additional debate on these items; motions to approve the agenda and the consent agenda (with one clerk correction to the November minutes) also passed unanimously.
The board adjourned after routine administrative business and announcements about upcoming community events.
