County awards wastewater blower contract to Galley Plumbing after technical review

The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Commission approved awarding the wastewater treatment plant blower replacement contract to Galley Plumbing after a technical evaluation by Water Environment Technologies (WET).
Shane Ellingson of WET told the commission that three bids were received on Oct. 14 from Galley Plumbing, Strobel Energy and Peak Water Services. WET scored bidders on price, prior similar-project experience, technical qualifications, staffing and responsiveness; Galley Plumbing met the criteria and was the recommended low bidder.
County staff and the CEO said Galley’s proposed equipment matches the plant’s current motors and that the contract will be written to prevent change orders: "This exact motor, this exact process... We’re going to put a lot of things in there to protect us," the CEO said. Commissioners moved and approved the recommended award.
Staff also noted that prior storm damage (slag/blown material) had caused motor failures in recent years and that replacing with the same brand should reduce future issues. The commission approved the contract award; contract execution details were not read into the record.
