Avery County approves Eagleview service agreement, keeps local government rider attached

The Avery County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Oct. 10 to approve a Master Service Agreement with Eagleview and to require the county’s local government rider remain attached.
County Attorney Michaelle Poore told the board the contract itself presented no substantive legal issue but that it needed the local government rider attached. "There was not an issue with the contract for Eagleview; it just needed the local government rider attached. Eagleview had wanted the rider to be eliminated," Poore said. She said she and the county manager would work to finalize the agreement.
Vice‑Chair Dennis Aldridge moved to approve the Master Service Agreement and Local Government Rider as approved by the county manager and county attorney; Commissioner Robert Burleson seconded the motion, which carried 4-0.
