Commission approves new road equipment and advances two road additions on first reading

On separate items the commission approved first readings for two county-road additions. Resolution 2018-081 requested accepting the road to residences owned by Guy Evans and Gary Powers in District 7 as a county road and naming it Hummingbird Hill; the commission approved the request on first reading, 20–0. Resolution 2018-085 requested adding Jeffers Lane (0.10 mile gravel private road serving three families) to the county road list; the Road Superintendent and the 911 Director had approved the request and the commission approved the first reading, 20–0.
A separate resolution (2018-082) requiring department designation on most county vehicles was amended to postpone implementation until July 1, 2019 so costs for vehicle displays can be included in the 2019–20 budget; the sheriff’s and school departments were excluded from the requirement by amendment.
