Staff cautioned that 2022 bid prices may not cover current costs if construction happens later, and they have begun checking contractor availability and preparing reporting to meet DNRC invoicing requirements. The county is pursuing a PER (preliminary engineering report) and additional grants—such as Montana Main Street—to support sewer repairs and potential pipe replacement or lining.
Commissioners heard that the county will continue to press the vendor for timely submittals, that invoices must be returned in time to consume grant funds, and that close coordination with DNRC and local clerks is necessary to close the grant and unlock additional projects.
