The proposal recommends using a managed reseller (Granite) so the clerk’s office can be billed monthly rather than charging credit cards; that reseller would also provide remote-managed services and LTE failover.
Staff said the grant-funded purchase of Starlink hardware is complete and asked to trial one installation. The activation fee per unit was cited as $196.99 (one-time) and managed monthly service was estimated at roughly $113.27 per unit; staff said the grant will cover the activation costs. Commissioners agreed to proceed with a single-unit trial on an ambulance and to assess performance before broader rollout.
No ongoing contract was authorized beyond a month-to-month pilot; staff will report back with trial results and operational recommendations.
