Commission moves to formalize siren policy; SBA drought-relief notice shared

Staff recommended that the commission adopt a formal siren policy by resolution to define siren meanings, testing cadence, and activation authority. S16 said the policy would be drafted as a resolution and suggested posting audio examples and explanations on the county website so residents could click and hear each siren and its meaning.
In the same update S16 told commissioners that the federal Agricultural Administrator included Fallon County in an SBA drought-relief declaration. The staffer asked whether the commission wanted the county to publicize the low-interest SBA loan availability to eligible local farmers and small businesses. Commissioners agreed to let the public know and to coordinate outreach via county communications.
The commission asked staff to draft the siren resolution, coordinate with county legal counsel for language, and return with a formal resolution for a future meeting.
