Door 2 Art asks Hudson to accept ‘Melody’ sculpture and return small Birdsong pieces for summer display

"We would love for there to be a permanent home for them," Adriana said, noting Door 2 Art had loaned birds to area venues and that volunteers would hang and remove the work. She said storage and dispersal options have been discussed and that some of the flock has grown to nearly 200 birds.
Councilmembers offered ideas including dispersing smaller birds across city parks, finding permanent indoor storage locations and using the display for the citys 250th anniversary events. Councilmember Sam suggested keeping many of the birds across greens, and another member asked whether Melody would remain on Park Lane Green; Adriana said she would prefer it remain there but deferred to council.
City staff said accepting the donation would require a later resolution to formally accept "Melody" and to determine a permanent site. The council did not vote on accepting the donation at the workshop but directed staff to work with Door 2 Art and return with details for a resolution and installation plan.
Next steps: staff will work with Door 2 Art on logistics for a July 15—Oct. 15 display and draft a resolution if the city chooses to accept the donation.
