Consent and personnel items: The commissioners approved consent agenda items 1'8 (subject to budget appropriations and county policy), multiple family medical leave requests for county employees in the Treasurer's Office, South District Court and Department of Community Development, and a promotion in the public safety telecommunicator classification. Waiver of late fees: The board approved requests to waive personal financial responsibility for late fees in WEX Bank and Beach Dog accounts in two separate agenda items; one of those motions recorded an abstention by a board member and otherwise carried.
Septic testing MOU: The board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Washington On-site Sewage Association (WOSSA) to provide testing management for licensing on-site septic professionals, replacing an older in-house test and offering remote testing options, according to Department of Community Development staff.
Surplus property and vehicles: The board adopted Resolution 2025-021 to transfer surplus county engineering equipment to the South Bend School District and approved purchase of two 2024 Ford single-cab, long-bed pickup trucks from 5 Star Ford of Aberdeen, with canopy purchases to be considered at a subsequent meeting.
Road use and excise tax distribution: The board approved a road use and maintenance agreement with Naselle Timber Company / Campbell Global LLC to allow use of an alternate Deep River route while the Upper Naselle Road remains closed, and adopted the annual distribution of the 2024 PUD excise tax in accordance with RCW 54.28.090.
Legal fees and consulting amendment: The board authorized payment of legal fees related to a recall-challenge case (case no. 25-2-00067-25) subject to prosecuting-attorney approval, and approved Amendment No. 3 to the agreement with JB Reward System to extend a compensation study engagement through June 30.
