Pacific County approves multiple hires, appointments, fair contracts and vendor claims

Personnel actions approved included hiring Robert Jones Jr. (Road Maintenance Technician 1, effective 08/01/2025), Jeffrey Hall (Road Maintenance Technician 2, effective 07/23/2025), Jeff Ping (Road Maintenance Technician, effective 07/23/2025), and temporary fair-and-park summer help appointments for Harley Thaxton ($16.91/hour), Angel Morales ($16.66/hour) and Cadence Deskins ($16.66/hour), all beginning 08/01/2025. Commissioners also approved a voluntary lateral transfer of Aiden Walton to Behavioral Health Program Assistant (local 367c, grade 113 step 5) effective 08/01/2025 and increased accountant Josh Klus from 0.7 FTE to 0.8 FTE effective 08/01/2025.
On the contracts and payments front, the board authorized an entertainment agreement with Jump Party Rentals for $11,813.36 (plus taxes) to provide bounce houses and a soft-play area for the county fair and approved vendor claims (checks 200185–200266) totaling $173,001.04. The board also confirmed routine appointments to regional bodies, including Susan Heffinger to the Timberland Regional Library Board of Trustees and new members to the Olympic Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council.
County staff described recruits' backgrounds (for example, Jeffrey Hall's prior public works experience and both local- and out-of-state driving credentials required to convert to Washington licenses) and noted that hires are contingent on successful background checks and budget appropriations.
