A board member said Chirape was the only applicant and recounted the hiring steps: an oral board followed by an interview with three members of the panel. “It’s been a long process,” one committee member said, congratulating Chirape.
The board chair called for the vote; commissioners voiced their approval and the motion passed. The promotion will take effect on Aug. 1, 2025, pending final budget preparations and administrative sign-off.
