The Pacific County Board of County Commissioners approved a broad consent agenda and a cluster of personnel and procurement actions during its May 27 meeting.
The board unanimously approved consent agenda items 1–10 and advanced a series of personnel motions including the hire of Michael Parker as a deputy sheriff, promotions and temporary field hires. The board promoted Vanessa Hair to accounting manager effective June 1, 2025, and approved temporary field hires Braden Ruddle and Blake Finley (effective June 9) and Lucas Swagger (effective June 16) at $18 per hour, limited to five months.
On procurement and services the board adopted a motion to rescind an earlier action and purchase two Truckworks Plus/Pro repair-software licenses from Mitchell for $10,680 plus tax to be paid from County Road Fund No. 104. The board also awarded a contract to Grove Brothers, Inc., for cleanup at 4812 M Place in the amount of $27,048.32 (including sales tax) from Abatement Fund No. 144 and authorized payment of vendor claims warrants No. 175041–175112 totaling $474,311.07.
The board approved an out-of-class pay arrangement for Aiden Rolton to cover health-educator duties (up to 10 hours per month, May 1–May 30, 2025) and several seasonal and permanent hiring actions presented during the meeting. Nearly all procedural motions were handled by voice vote; board members responded with ‘Aye’ and no recorded roll-call dissent was taken at the meeting.
The meeting concluded with no additional action on these items. The board indicated routine administrative follow-up will occur through staff and appropriate departments.
