The Pacific County Board of County Commissioners met Sept. 9 and approved a package of routine personnel, procurement and administrative actions, then scheduled a continuation for Sept. 12 to consider a collective bargaining agreement with Local 367C.
The board approved hiring Brenda Wolf as assistant superior court administrator/recorder (local 367C), effective Sept. 10, 2025, after a committee member moved to approve the appointment subject to adequate budget appropriations and county policies. "I move to approve the request to hire Brenda Wolf, assistant superior court administrator/recorder," a committee member said during the motion. The motion passed by voice vote.
The board also amended a prior family medical leave action for an assessor's office employee, changing the effective date to Aug. 27, 2025, rather than Sept. 1, 2025. A committee member moved the amendment, which the board approved by voice vote.
On procurement, the commissioners authorized the purchase of a 7-by-16-foot Eagle tandem trailer from Olympic Trailer and Truck Accessories on state contract for $7,095.75, citing the county's existing trailer is more than 20 years old and no longer reliable for road use. County staff explained the purchase was needed to maintain operations; the motion passed by voice vote.
The board acknowledged the resignation of road maintenance technician Cody Blevins, effective Sept. 16, 2025, and approved posting and advertising to hire for that position. An agency official noted the department would miss the departing employee.
Two resolutions were adopted. Resolution 2025-057 authorizes disposal of surplus county personal property from the Department of Public Works telecommunications inventory, described at the meeting as obsolete radio equipment. Resolution 2025-058 establishes a bank account to accept credit/debit card payments for the public record center, following the board's earlier approval to accept electronic payments; county staff described this as a necessary step to receive funds electronically. Both resolutions were adopted by voice vote.
The commissioners accepted an offer of $3,419.50 from Katrina Johnson Scott to purchase a county-owned tax-title parcel in accordance with RCW 36.35.150; staff said the parcel failed to sell at a December 2024 auction and the offer satisfies the unpaid back taxes. The motion was approved by voice vote.
The board also approved an unpaid leave of absence for a Health & Human Services Department employee from Sept. 22 to Oct. 20, 2025, under the local 367C collective bargaining agreement (section 5.14), and approved vendor claims (checks No. 200792–200878) as presented.
No members of the public spoke during two public comment periods held at the start and end of the meeting. The chair closed the meeting and said the board will continue on Friday, Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. to potentially approve the Local 367C collective bargaining agreement and any other business.
