The Pacific County Board of County Commissioners approved entertainment agreements for the 2025 fair on Aug. 19, 2025, contracting Christine Corey/Hellbound Glory for $2,000 and Hold Card Truth for $1,500, to be paid from current expense — county fair fund number 001.314, subject to adequate budget appropriations.
A committee member moved the agreements and a colleague seconded. The Chair explained a previously scheduled performer (referred to as John Taylor) had medical issues and staff secured replacement acts rapidly. The motion included authorization for the Chair to sign the agreements and a request for waiver of insurance requirements.
During the vote a commissioner announced an abstention, stating they were related to one of the acts ("I'm one of the acts as my son"). The Chair announced there were two 'ayes' and one abstention and that the motion carried.
The agreements were approved with the abstention recorded; the Board did not discuss further contract terms in open session.
