A commissioner moved and another seconded the motion. The motion included an explicit condition that donations with specific conditions or criteria must be presented to the commissioners before the fair manager accepts them. During discussion the Chair said Colton was bringing the item forward and that county facility maintenance staff, aided by summer help, had already completed significant work to rebuild the stage; commissioners encouraged sponsorship outreach to offset costs.
The Chair called the vote, members indicated approval, and the Chair announced the motion carried.
The authorization allows the fair manager to collect private donations for the project while giving the Board final review of any restricted or conditional gifts.
