Nemaha County commissioners approve Pictometry, bridge contract and facility repairs; set budget hearing

The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners met Aug. 30 and authorized multiple contracts and repairs, approved vendor bids, and set budget hearing dates for September.
Key actions: the board signed a contract with Pictometry International Corp for aerial imagery and related services at a cost of $34,814.25 and signed a contract with KEA Constructors, Inc. for the C64(339) Nemaha Northwest Hawxby bridge project for $664,819.62. Commissioners accepted a low fuel bid from Frontier Cooperative for September ($3.74 per gallon for #2 clear diesel; $3.09 per gallon regular with ethanol). The board approved facility projects including sidewalk replacement at the Law Enforcement Building (estimate accepted from Pieters Construction, $7,400) and replacement of Wellness Center windows (Darnell Glass Co., $16,000).
