Nemaha County Board of Equalization sets June–July dates to review Form 422 tax protests

Chairman Bryan Mellage called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. and noted that the Open Meeting Poster and handouts were available to the public. Present were Commissioner Mike Hall (District 1), Commissioner Michael Weiss (District 3), County Clerk Diane Johnson, and County Assessor Mallory Lempka.
Commissioner Mike Hall moved to approve the meeting agenda; Commissioner Michael Weiss seconded the motion. The board approved the agenda by roll call vote: Hall, aye; Mellage, aye; Weiss, aye. Hall then moved to approve the April 9, 2025 minutes; Weiss seconded, and the board approved the minutes by the same unanimous roll call.
The board noted a potential executive session for pending litigation but did not enter executive session; no action was taken on that matter.
The board set dates to review Protest Forms 422 filed in June 2025: June 3, June 18, July 2 and July 23, 2025. No motion text or individual member dissent on the schedule was recorded in the meeting minutes.
With no further business, Commissioner Michael Weiss moved to adjourn; Commissioner Mike Hall seconded, and the board adjourned at 10:10 a.m. by unanimous roll call vote.
County Clerk Diane Johnson certified the minutes and noted a complete copy is available during normal business hours at the Nemaha County Clerk’s office or on the Nemaha County website.
