The Boca Raton City Council finalized its shortlist of finalists for city manager interviews on July 15, selecting seven candidates for in‑person interviews scheduled for Aug. 12, 2025. The finalists are Sonia Alves, George Camejo, Patrick Jordan, Stan Morris, Mark Soheny, John Spinelli and James Zervas.
Process: The selection followed council discussion and input from the recruitment consultant (Mercer Group Associates). Council members described priorities such as experience managing comparable jurisdictions, demonstrated fiscal and development oversight and leadership in municipal operations. Staff and the consultant said they will coordinate scheduling and contact information for one‑on‑one conversations with council members prior to Aug. 12.
Logistics and next steps: The council planned to begin interviews at 9 a.m. and allocate roughly an hour per candidate; staff said that timeline (including short breaks and a working lunch) should allow the council to complete interviews and then deliberate. Council members were advised the firm would be available to facilitate the interview day and that staff will coordinate candidate confirmations.
