County adopts $35,000 budget supplement to hire temporary accountant for Munis conversion

During a public hearing on April 22, county auditor's office staff described a proposed FY2025 budget supplement to support the department’s conversion from an aging Eaton accounting system to the Munis enterprise ERP from Tyler Technologies.
"There is a request of $35,000 to put out for this temporary position not to exceed 5 months," the auditor’s representative (speaker 4) said, explaining the 0.417 full-time-equivalent (FTE) represents five twelfths of a year. Staff said the conversion could take roughly 18 months and that the temporary hire would assist Chief Accountant Katie Kimball with the transition while regular auditing and reporting deadlines continue.
The board adopted Resolution 2025-024 to approve the budget supplement and subsequently approved a motion to advertise and hire a temporary junior accountant or accountant, subject to budget appropriations. Commissioners praised the auditor’s office staff for handling an intensive workload tied to the system migration and multiple audits scheduled this year.
