Commissioners approve Beach Baron's Car Club road run permit with traffic and law-enforcement conditions

The Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved an assembly permit for the Beach Baron's Car Club road run to be held in September 2025 after a public hearing at which Dr. Mark Mansell (speaker 12) described longstanding planning and mitigation efforts.
Mansell told the board the event has been held for decades and brings significant economic value to the Long Beach Peninsula; he said organizers have worked with county public works and law enforcement to shorten staging times and manage traffic. "We greatly appreciate the support that we've received from the county and the community," Mansell said.
The board closed the public hearing and approved the permit with five explicit conditions: all food vendors must obtain health permits by Aug. 31, 2025; traffic control plans and planned road-closures require written approval from the Department of Public Works with input and coordination from the Pacific County Sheriff's Office; the applicant must provide a written traffic control plan detailing timing, sequencing and duration; the applicant must identify any county-provided traffic control devices (cones, barricades) and accept potential county billing for direct costs; and the applicant must provide a $2,000 contribution to the county for law-enforcement support.
The motion to approve was seconded and passed by voice vote (unanimous). County staff said the permit approval is subject to meeting the enumerated conditions before the event proceeds.
