Fulton County adopts 2026 budget, approves tax levy with no increase

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted the county’s 2026 budget and approved a tax levy that keeps county taxes unchanged.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute Resolution 8 of 2025, the “Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution,” which the board approved with no increase in taxes for fiscal year 2026. The motion carried with all commissioners voting in favor.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed told the board there were no changes to the proposed budget since it was publicly advertised. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented by CFO Mike Lamb and Sue Reed; that motion carried unanimously.
At the same meeting the board also approved accounts payable dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 and accepted the December 2025 pension report presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston.
The board scheduled a formal appointment of Keller Engineer, Inc. at the Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. The meeting record shows routine procedural approvals and the budget action as the principal fiscal business of the session.
