A roll-call vote was taken; Gary Haws, Jennifer Davila, Spencer Wade, Britt Hornsby and Mayor Josh Ewing voted in favor. The ordinance passed unanimously.
Nelson had prepared the ordinance language and presented comparative examples from other jurisdictions; councilmembers emphasized the need for clearly posted school-zone start and stop points before any lower limit around the school is enacted.
