Organizer Selena Van told the commission the Discover Anaconda Christmas Stroll, scheduled for Nov. 28 at Kennedy Commons, has been planned in coordination with county police, fire and search-and-rescue for road closures and parade routing. She said the tree lighting and stroll logistics are set, though construction in the park and pending equipment parts could affect some event setup.
"So myself, and I know they've talked with the police and fire department about the road closure for the parade and for the event," Van said, indicating safety and routing have been discussed. Commissioners noted the county is not the event sponsor but may provide permitting and public-safety assistance; the item was placed on the agenda and staff said they will update the commission on any developments.
No formal county sponsorship was claimed; organizers said they hold required insurance and have applied for necessary permits.
