County to update seasonal election assistant job description as incumbent departs

Tony Hoffman, the county’s elections administrator, told the commission the county is rewriting the seasonal election assistant job description now that the current incumbent, Susie Krueger, will leave at the end of the year. Hoffman said the revised description clarifies duties and better matches how the office actually operates.
"She is going to be leaving us at the end of the year here, so we thought it was a good time to update and correct the job description that had previously been out there," Hoffman said. He added that the position is budgeted for 960 hours per year and that much of the work is currently handled by Hoffman and regular staff.
Commissioner Bodette asked whether the essential-functions attachment to the job description should be more detailed. Hoffman responded that the attachment lists the essential parts of the job and that additional, less-regular duties are handled by the elections office staff. The commission placed the item on the agenda for future action.
