"With that $4,000, they then choose what they want to do with it," CEO Everett said, noting the approach preserves 4‑H participation without county operational control.
The commission also discussed two appointment items: a recommendation to reappoint James Davidson to the Urban Renewal Agency and to consider an application from Paul Lorango for the Board of Health. Commissioners agreed to place both items on a future agenda for formal action.
On personnel pay, staff previewed a dispatchers contract that would give 9‑1‑1 dispatchers a 4% wage increase for fiscal 2025‑26 and another 4% for 2026‑27; the commission placed the contract on the agenda. Commissioners also discussed liability insurance for Bowman Field and asked staff to provide coverage limits and policy details before final action.
Finally, a representative from the Beaverhead Deer Lodge Working Group asked the commission to consider a one‑time or occasional contribution of $1,000 to support the group's facilitation and outreach; commissioners suggested submitting a written request to the CEO for budget consideration.
