The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Commission approved a memorandum of understanding that deputizes the county Public Health Department to provide the federally supported Vaccines for Children program through its local community health center.
Lauren (staff) explained the MOU is intended to maintain local access to the Vaccines for Children program and confirmed the county provides vaccines approved by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. When a member of the public asked whether the county would provide vaccines excluded because of aluminum-content rules, Lauren replied the county provides only those products approved through ACIP.
A commissioner moved to approve the deputizing and oversight arrangement; the commission approved the motion by voice vote with five ayes and no recorded opposition. No changes to vaccine selection policy were proposed during the discussion; staff reiterated that vaccine use follows ACIP guidance.
