Claims: The commission authorized payment of claims numbered 147884 through 147989 totaling $953,750.69. Commissioners identified two larger invoices—a sand-and-gravel supplier and Black Mountain Software—together cited at roughly $61,005.27, and noted Hopkins R&M street repair ($22,500) and hotel rooms for law enforcement ($11,700) among notable line items.
Budget: The commission approved Resolution No. 2516 to amend fund budgets for fiscal years 2024–2025. Commissioners also set the public hearing for the fiscal year 2025–2026 annual budget for 09/09/2025.
Labor and contracts: The commission approved an agreement between Anaconda Deer Lodge County and Teamsters Union Local No. 2 covering the detention unit. It also approved an ambulance service standby agreement for the 2025 football season at Mitchell Stadium; staff described the ambulance contract as the standard agreement used in previous seasons.
Property and preservation: The commission approved a draft buy–sell and deed for the historic railroad administration building; public commenters asked about climate control for artifact preservation and staff said climate control will be required for parts of the facility and that development will be multi-phased over years.
Procurement and events: Commissioners approved an invitation for bids for Upper Hill and Mount Carmel Cemetery Road and approved a special-event benefit fundraiser for the Owl Bar hosted by Carmel Sports Bar & Grill on 08/23/2025, pending receipt of a certificate of insurance. Business owner Shane Charles told commissioners “All proceeds donated that day will go to the victims’ families” and confirmed he has insurance from Pinner Insurance and will provide a certificate.
Procedure: Motions on each item were moved, seconded and voted on; the chair called the vote and announced the results. Commissioners concluded with miscellaneous reports, a schedule of upcoming meetings and adjournment.
