Commissioners move to advance subdivision ordinance amendments for Georgetown Lake Volunteer Fire Department area

The Anaconda Deer Lodge County Commission heard a public hearing on Ordinance No. 280, which would amend Chapter 16 (Subdivisions) of the county code to include standards specific to the Georgetown Lake Volunteer Fire Department service area.
A commissioner (Speaker 4) told the commission the amendment has been worked on extensively over several years, was unanimously recommended by the planning board and drew no objection at the hearing. "I'm hoping to happy to think that we can move forward and adopt this and put everybody on a level playing field in the subdivision of areas within the Georgetown Lake Volunteer Fire Department service area," the commissioner said.
No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing and county staff, including the CEO and county attorney, had no comment on the matter during the session. Commissioners indicated the item should be placed on the formal agenda for action at a subsequent meeting.
Next steps: staff to place the ordinance on the next regular agenda for potential adoption.
