Klein said the road is in poor condition after winter and estimated probable cost at about $472,000 for the work, which would include base reconstruction where needed, placement of millings, a leveling course and a three-inch final wearing layer. County staff explained past millings projects and why millings sometimes fail depending on material variability; they described the proposed approach of rebuilding the base and using millings as a leveling course before the final asphalt overlay.
Commissioners moved to advertise for bids for the overlay project and approved the motion by voice vote. Staff will prepare bid documents and schedule advertising.
