Rose Nylin (speaker 12) recounted Job Corps projects across the county and praised students’ skills; other commenters — including a long‑time former instructor and a current Job Corps instructor, Jeremy Lee (speaker 17) — emphasized the program’s role in training skilled tradespeople and supporting local public works.
Commissioners and the county attorney echoed community support and recommended transmitting a copy of the resolution to the governor, members of the state legislature and congressional delegation, as stated in the resolution’s text. The commission moved to approve the resolution and recorded unanimous approval.
The resolution instructs county staff to send copies to state and federal representatives as a formal expression of local support for preserving the Job Corps center in Anaconda.
