Commission approves immunization task-order amendment and extends long-standing Superfund legal-assistance MOU

The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Commission approved two administrative agreements: an amendment to a task order for immunization services and a third addendum and extension to a long-running MOU covering technical and legal assistance on Superfund-related matters.
The task-order amendment, effective 07/01/2019 through June 2026 with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, provides approximately $56,000 in funding for a 0.5 full-time equivalent at the county health office, county staff said. The commission approved the amendment by voice vote.
Separately, staff presented a third addendum to an MOU with Atlantic Richfield to continue reimbursing the county for outside legal and technical expenses related to Superfund work. Presenter (Carl) said the agreement has been in place for more than 10 years, that Atlantic Richfield reimburses the county for invoiced expenses, and that roughly $50,000 remains available under previous allocations. County staff praised the arrangement for providing outside counsel without using county funds directly. Commissioners moved to approve the addendum and voted unanimously.
Both actions were procedural approvals intended to maintain ongoing services: the immunization funding supports county public-health staffing, and the MOU continuation preserves the county’s access to reimbursed legal and technical support for Superfund matters.
