Redevelopment staff says county retains ownership while West Gate infrastructure work proceeds

"Ownership stays with the county until we have an opportunity...to pull together a strong, bona fide development plan," Brian said, describing work on sanitary lift stations and main extensions that will service new sites. He said the county is investing in utilities to make parcels ready for development.
Brian said about 60% of prospects in the pipeline are in an early feasibility or ideation stage, and he identified Kratos as already hiring for its first facility. "They plan to have 100 employees there," he said, adding that dates and full employment projections depend on market timing.
Commissioners asked for more precise job and prospect information; Brian agreed to provide updated timelines, estimated hiring numbers and a list of anonymous prospects by March 10, noting confidentiality constraints for some prospects.
No formal votes were taken on this update. The presentation was provided as a check-in per the real-estate agreement governing multi-county coordination for West Gate of Crane.
