Board proclaims Red Ribbon Week; district highlights Prop S, music recognition and donation to Baldwin Elementary

The superintendent also highlighted community and program news: the Lafayette Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association conference in January, the district recognized Cornerstone Awards nominations (nomination window through Oct. 24), and President Vidgett noted a $1,030 donation from Lafayette Church of Christ to Baldwin Elementary to support the fall book fair. The superintendent framed Prop S — a measure on the November 4 ballot mentioned during the meeting — as a district proposal to recruit and retain teachers and staff and to expand health-care benefits and school safety staffing; the board encouraged community members to visit rsdmo.org for more information and to attend Prop S presentations and Coffee with Dr. Kane sessions.
