The La Porte Common Council approved a resolution on March 16 authorizing transfers between line items in the city’s 2026 budgets.
Councilman Galloway introduced the resolution, describing additional monies needed in certain line items to pay for essential services. The resolution reallocates $2,000 from "other services" to repairs and maintenance for the General Clerk Treasurer fund (1101‑041), $7,500 within board-of-works salaries accounts, and $535 between specified bid/other services codes (as read aloud in the meeting).
Council members described the transfers as routine budget housekeeping; the resolution was read once, moved, seconded and passed by voice vote. No member requested further discussion.
The resolution passed the same evening and will be recorded in the city’s budgetary records.
