"I hate to see it sold just to a developer or to a farmer because it's not gonna be what the city envisions," he said.
Knapp referenced previous planning efforts and private developer proposals that included features such as a short golf course and fishing lakes; he asked the city to create a new plan to guide future use and to resist disposing of the property without a vision that preserves community benefit.
The council thanked Knapp for his comments; no formal action, assignment, funding or timetable was recorded in response to the public comment during the meeting.
