Snowflake recognizes police promotion; Senior Center thanks council

The Snowflake Town Council on Dec. 2 held a brief recognition for Ramon Mercer on his promotion to sergeant. Police Chief Martin thanked Mercer for his work over the past four years and noted Mercer’s local ties. Mercer’s wife pinned his sergeant badge, and Mercer thanked the council for their support and said he looks forward to representing the towns of Snowflake and Taylor.
During the Call to Public (moved to after action items), Faith Trembly, manager of the Senior Center, expressed gratitude to the council for sponsoring Thanksgiving dinners and for covering the cost of turkeys. Trembly invited the council to serve at the Senior Center Christmas dinner on Dec. 18 at 11:30 a.m.
Councilmembers gave brief community updates: Greg Brimhall said the holiday lighting had high attendance; Joe Bjornn reported that 250 cookies were distributed within 30 minutes at a recent booth; Reid Stinnett described interest from Show Low residents in the town’s bike park and suggested sharing more information to attract visitors; Byron Lewis reiterated support for Senior Center activities.
The meeting adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
