Walker Township, Hancock County agree to split Sutter 4‑way stop project costs; grant opportunity noted

Walker Township will pay $120,000 and Hancock County will pay $45,000 toward improvements at the four‑way stop in Sutter, the committee heard Feb. 26. Tom Rodgers moved to forward the cost‑share agreement to the full board for approval; Alex Blythe seconded and all members present voted aye.
Mark Menn said the county has an opportunity to apply for a Community Development Grant; Elgin Berry is preparing the application and will send it to the Bellwether grant writer for suggestions. The application deadline is March 6, according to the minutes.
The committee also reviewed and approved claims by roll call. Alex Blythe moved to recess the committee until March 30 at 8:30 a.m.; Tom Rodgers seconded and the members voted to recess. The meeting adjourned at 9:39 a.m.
