Reidenbach said she bought her current home seven years ago, that her younger daughter is disabled, and that she has tried multiple programs but was told she makes "too much". She said some providers also told her there was no money left in programs. The president asked whether she had applied for the city's HUD‑guided roofing program and whether she had spoken with a named staffer (Miss Zion); Reidenbach said she had and that she was informed she exceeded the income threshold.
Councilors acknowledged the limits of federally set income thresholds and said staff would follow up. The council president said the clerk had taken Reidenbach's name and number and asked council members and staff to check additional resources and give her a callback with information. Councilor Glenn said he and neighborhood partners would try to help and recommended contacting Habitat for Humanity as another avenue.
