Planning commission tables Fuqua Subdivision after survey discrepancies found

The Lincoln County Planning Commission on Aug. 12 voted to table an application to split a dwelling site from a large agricultural parcel after a commissioner identified problems with the property survey.

County Planner Judy Clark told the commission the proposal would separate a 7.36-acre agricultural dwelling site from the remaining 610.83-acre parcel at 21477 South Highway 83 and noted that, because of the lot shape, staff had asked the commission to review the one-lot subdivision before it moves to the county board. Clark said the proposed split would include a north tree line with the dwelling site and that the subdivision otherwise conforms to the Lincoln County Comprehensive Plan and subdivision regulations.

Member Aaron Edwards moved to table the application, saying there was "an easement missing and a bearing [that] is incorrect." Roger Merritt seconded. The motion to table carried on a roll-call vote: Roggow, Boden, Merritt, Moorhead, Edwards, Eickhoff, Davies and Miller voting yes; no votes were recorded; Flaming, Pederson and Rayburn were absent.

The commission did not set a new hearing date; the motion to table directs the applicant to correct the survey and return the item for further review. The application will resume the permitting process once the survey is corrected and any required administrative steps are complete.
