Goodhue County approves township cannabis delegations, a Cannon Falls microbusiness IUP and two retail registrations

The board voted unanimously to enter into cannabis delegation agreements with Leon Township and Cannon Falls Township (minutes list Holden Township among the approved delegations). The delegations designate the county as the registration authority for township-registered cannabis activity.
The board also approved an interim use permit for a cannabis microbusiness at 7860 365th Street in Cannon Falls, an application submitted by David Kunert on behalf of ACE Cannabis LLC. The permit was approved with six conditions: MnDOT site plan review approval; any retail operations must obtain a county retail registration once Leon Township delegates retail registrations; required building permits must be issued before work begins; compliance with Goodhue County septic regulations and applicable permits; maintenance of the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management license; and termination of the IUP upon closure, sale to parties not associated with ACE Cannabis LLC/7860 365th LLC, or violation of county CUP/IUP requirements.
Finance and Taxpayer Services staff recommended approval of two retail registrations, and the board approved registrations for Kevin Rodriguez (DBA The Green Zone) and Jack Baker (DBA Sky High Cannabis). All cannabis-related items were carried by motions recorded as 5-0.
The actions were moved and seconded on the record (motions recorded as moved by C/Anderson and seconded by C/Majerus) and entered into the meeting minutes. The board's approvals make Goodhue County the formal registration authority for participating townships and allow the Cannon Falls microbusiness to proceed to licensing and permitting steps required by state and county authorities.
