Jason said staff estimates the TIF will net the city approximately $4,600,000 over the next 30 years. He described the project as a large retail and fueling complex that will include more than 100 fuel pumps and more than 20 electric vehicle charging stations. Staff said Buc‑ee’s typically averages about 200 employees, with frontline pay between $18 and $23 per hour and a blended annual pay of roughly $48,000 when management positions are included.
Council members asked for more detailed revenue projections tied to income tax and gas‑tax receipts; staff committed to provide those figures for the Monday meeting. Staff also said the company anticipates construction completion in early March and tentatively penciled an April 6 grand opening.
The TIF item was informational at the work session; staff asked to move the measure to Monday as an emergency ordinance so the city can secure the increment tied to near‑complete improvements.
