The commission reviewed a mock‑up of military‑style football jerseys for Wayne High School and confirmed that Parks and Recreation issued an emergency purchase order to cover the cost.
Kevin McDonald said the jersey is a camel color with the 250 commission logo and indicated Wayne’s athletic director approved the concept. Kevin noted the vendor is already used by the school and that Parks and Recreation will pay for the order. Members discussed ordering one additional jersey (a framed or signed example) to display or include in the time capsule and raised concerns about sizing and fit. Bryce, experienced with jersey fittings, asked that the commission confirm vendor sizing so players receive the expected sizes.
Kevin said Parks and Recreation is handling payment from its 250 budget and the commission would not need to vote to fund the jerseys. Members agreed to follow up with the AD and Parks staff to confirm who will arrange signature and display of a sample jersey.
