Paragonah updates water improvement project; fault line found, easement must be recorded before service

Paragonah, Utah — Town officials said Sept. 10 that the Water Improvement Project drawings are approximately 60% complete, include several missing meters that need to be added, and will be adjusted to avoid a geological fault discovered on the Witt property.
Mike Abbott reported he had reviewed the 60% drawings and noted a few meters were missing from the plans; he said Sunrise Engineering's representative (referred to as Nate) asked for the board's input as soon as possible. The town has posted a large printed copy of the drawings at the fire station for review.
Abbott also said a geological survey identified a fault line on the Witt property. The engineering team is working to relocate project elements away from that fault. Abbott said the design changes are in progress but did not give a completion date for the next design milestone.
The board discussed an easement affecting a fire hydrant on property owned by Chris Meneley. Mayor Todd Robinson said Justin Wayment is revising the easement language to remove an item that listed utilities "above and below ground," per Meneley's concern; Robinson said the board will email the revised easement to members for review before it is recorded. The town will not turn water on to that hydrant until the easement is signed and recorded.
No cost estimate or construction schedule beyond the 60% design stage was provided at the meeting. The board did not take a formal vote on project funding or construction at this session.
