Clinton adopts official canvas: 5,627 ballots cast, 46.12% turnout; winners named

City Recorder Lisa told the council the city contracted with Davis County to conduct the election. She said the city had 12,202 active registered voters and 5,627 ballots cast: 5,372 ballots by mail, one early vote, 237 election-day votes and 17 provisional ballots. That total produced a 46.12% turnout rate.
Lisa also read the winners reported in the official canvass: Marie Doherty as mayor, and Adam B. Larson and Chris Danson as city council members. She said the full canvas report will be posted to the city website and that hard copies are available in the recorder's office for public review.
The council voted to adopt the canvas as presented without further questions. The acceptance of the canvas completes the certification step for the municipal election results.
