The Grove City Planning Commission recommended that City Council approve a use permit allowing Little Diggers to operate an indoor children’s play facility at 4076 Hoover Road.
Zach Bowers, owner of Little Diggers, told the commission the 1,100‑square‑foot sandbox and play area is designed for children 7 and under and will serve as the company’s flagship location. "We're very excited about bringing our new location to Grove City," Bowers said.
City development staff told commissioners the proposed use does not fall under a permitted industrial classification in Chapter 1135 of the Grove City Planning and Zoning Code and therefore requires Planning Commission review and a recommendation to council. Staff said the indoor nature of the business and on‑site parking should prevent adverse impacts on surrounding commercial and adjacent single‑family residential uses across Knapp Drive.
Commissioners asked about public comment, parking and operating impacts; no members of the public spoke. A motion to recommend approval was made and seconded and the roll call vote recorded unanimous support.
The recommendation will now go to Grove City Council for final action.
